The bolded are the key words though. Cats are just low-maintence by nature. You don't have to put in a bunch of time training them.

Yeah but some people find the results of the training rewarding, myself included. Maybe you ought to consider a pet fish. Or a cactus.

My preference depends on my mood. I got 2 dogs and a cat and love them all.

Are fish and cacti funny, furry, affectionate little animals like cats are?

Can't pet either one.

I got 2 fish a while back, they died pretty quickly, I thought they'd be good. They weren't. They were shite.

Summary: Fuck fish.

And neither one has much of a reaction to a laser pointer.

I had a cactus in my room. Surprisingly pleasant to look at and run your hand across. Plus low maintenance for all the lazy people out there

I keep a jar of catnip in the cupboard. No matter where in the apartment my cat is, if I open that jar, he comes running. He takes a sniff, stumbles backwards, then falls over. Yeah.

I do like having plants around, but I think I'd rather have my cat lying at the foot of my bed every night as opposed to a cactus.

Some people find having a pet snoozing on their bed kind of relaxing, myself included. Maybe you ought to consider a pet fish. Or a cactus.
