Cats are winning?

Hipsters.

Paedantic Basterd 08-28-2011 09:34 PM

Are they? I'm shocked. I just assumed it was dogs in the lead.

It is the internet, mind you. The internet loves cats.

Dogs suck.

Hehe.

One of the great things about cats is that they don't take much work. You need to give a bit of time to feed them or pamper them or whatever, but they're otherwise great for the lazy people. Dogs are great, but they do need a lot of human help to stay healthy. I couldn't bear to let any of my pets fall out of health, so I'd have to devote a lot more time to a dog if I got one.

FETCHER. 08-29-2011 04:47 AM

If you train your dog properly then it'll walk by your side. Mines doesn't go any further than a few yards then turns round to check I'm okay :).

The bolded are the key words though. Cats are just low-maintence by nature. You don't have to put in a bunch of time training them.

This is Rufus. He doesn't much care for dogs, and he'll kick your ass if you're not careful.

Noise, Rufus is so cute!

Why everyone loves cats... and why so many cats get neglected. =(

I know a lot of girls who want a kitten only to not want to take care of it after it grows up.

Yeah but some people find the results of the training rewarding, myself included. Maybe you ought to consider a pet fish. Or a cactus.

My preference depends on my mood. I got 2 dogs and a cat and love them all.

Are fish and cacti funny, furry, affectionate little animals like cats are?

Paedantic Basterd 08-29-2011 08:57 PM

Can't pet either one.

TheCunningStunt 08-29-2011 08:58 PM

I got 2 fish a while back, they died pretty quickly, I thought they'd be good. They weren't. They were shite.

Summary: Fuck fish.

And neither one has much of a reaction to a laser pointer.

I had a cactus in my room. Surprisingly pleasant to look at and run your hand across. Plus low maintenance for all the lazy people out there

noise 08-29-2011 09:02 PM

I keep a jar of catnip in the cupboard. No matter where in the apartment my cat is, if I open that jar, he comes running. He takes a sniff, stumbles backwards, then falls over. Yeah.

I do like having plants around, but I think I'd rather have my cat lying at the foot of my bed every night as opposed to a cactus.

Some people find having a pet snoozing on their bed kind of relaxing, myself included. Maybe you ought to consider a pet fish. Or a cactus.

I like to take my cat to bed with me, he either stays on or goes and jumps off. It is very relaxing to have him with in arms reach to pet. I also like listening to him clean himself, it's strangely relaxing.

Paedantic Basterd 08-30-2011 12:23 AM

My first cat had a spot at the end of my bed where we could both sleep undisturbed, and I loved to listen to her purr and fall asleep. The second cat's preference was to sleep in my face, if not actually on it, and could be very irritating at 5 in the morning when she wanted to be let out.

pretty much you'll get the same result, once my cat sliced my foot wide open - I would imagine a cactus would do the same thing.

But if you put peanut butter on your junk, a cactus will just sit there.

They're pretty ideal for masochists though.

At least it might give me some light foreplay.

Depending on the preferences of the person subjected. Getting a cactus in the genitals must be a right turn on. :)

But then it's just masturbating with a cactus. Where's the love and affection?

They're just shy critters, bad at showing emotions.

A cactus doesn't have the capacity to think or love... nor does it have a brain.

Wrong. My cactus and I have a loving relationship.

Cowboy's avatar made me realise that I'd rather have Pinkie Pie than any boring old cat or dog.

Nosferatu Man 08-30-2011 06:01 PM

Most defintely a cat person. I love cats they are so sleek and cool and lithe and athletic.
