stupid iphone 4... stupid me.
so, my iphone decided it would make the screen resolution go beyond the confines of its own available space, thus denying me the ability to slide my lockbar and use my phone. this sucks cuz i need it for work. any suggestions? i'll even go so far as resetting the damn thing if there's a way to do it. i can't even turn it off without holding both buttons down for 10 seconds.

You can restart it by holding down the sleep button (on the top) until the screen goes blank. Wait a few seconds, then turn it back on by holding down the same button.
If that fails, you'll have to put it in DFU mode (factory default). This is a sure fix, but it erases everything from the phone, and you have to be near a computer with iTunes. To do this: -Plug the phone into your computer while iTunes is open. -Wait until the computer recognizes the phone and tells you everything (syncing, transferring purchases, backing up, etc) is finished. -Hold down both the sleep and the home buttons at the same time for exactly 10 seconds (this will cause your phone to disappear from the iTunes' devices menu). -Release the sleep button (the one on the top) while continuing to hold down the home button until iTunes recognizes that your phone is plugged in. -iTunes will tell you that it has detected a phone in restore mode, and ask you if you want to restore it from your last backup. Do this. (If you haven't been able to back it up, it will reset it to factory default, which could require DL'ing the newest firmware). -After it's restored, sync your media and back it up. I had to do this last week. |

thanks oojay.
i didn't actually end up having to do that. i went to facebook (who says it's good fer nuthin'?) with my problem and was told to just tap the screen with three fingers. this restored everything to it's proper resolution. i suppose it's part of the zoom feature or something. thanks again.
