I didn't say it would be an easy transition but relocating would be a pretty damn good idea especially if your property is so damaged that it's not worth fixing.

I think that's a very easy thing to assume Dj, alot of people have probably stayed in that area all their lives, if not the same house. I know if it happened to me I'd want to stay where I've grew up my whole life :).

I guess I'm not so attached to memories and work based off of logic.

If I'm living in an area like that then I'm going to have to move because it's pretty much going to happen again.

Sure, it might not be financially easy to just pick up and leave but if the property you were living in was destroyed then those childhood memories are pretty much gone but I guess people don't like change so it would be hard for them to move.

I've never moved house in my life and I'd be destroyed if my home got demolished by a natural disaster. I'd pretty much want to make things the way they were beforehand, but like you say. I'd also see immense opportunities to flee the uk and peruse my dream of emigrating.
