Unrelated to Music Question

is there like a ship that can take me from North Carolina to New York?

if there is, how long does it take?

djchameleon 05-27-2011 04:23 AM

Your best bet would be to hop on a train.

I don't think there are any ships that leave from NC to NY.

why would you even want to take a ship?

cruise ships are notorious for spreading diseases at a high concentrated rate.

chipper 05-27-2011 07:34 AM

i'm just looking for an alternative to taking a plane. i know a road trip would take like 9 hours right? never been to north carolina.

how long will a train ride take?

djchameleon 05-27-2011 09:06 AM

No clue I have never done it, you will have to do some research on that.

You could probably also take a bus but I know that the bus will take longer than the train.

From my experience, train rides aren't that much faster than driving. Maybe 1 or 2 hours is shaved off, but that's it. I don't think we have those super fast European trains in North America.

Edit: buses take as long as driving, maybe longer because they might make more stops.

khfreek 05-27-2011 11:27 AM

yeah America's 30 years or more behind Europe in train travel, it's pretty bad. Still faster and less annoying than driving though.

Way more comfortable and probably more affordable as well, in the long run. Some rail lines also offer WiFi and other luxuries for trips that are longer than an hour too.

buses are awful you DON"T want to do that. They take way longer than driving because of all the stops that they take. It will probably take you a day or so to get to NY from North Carolina on a bus.

Been searching about boat rides... google doesn't give me much.

I definitely don't want to drive. If there is no middle ground between a plane and driving, i'll take the plane.

I once did a 15 hour bus ride to Vancouver and found myself hallucinating the smell of tacos by the end of it.

Trains are awesome. Love them. Granted, longest one I've ever been on was probably 6 hours.

i'm not so sure about the US but aren't you guys have states that are united? that's why they're called united states of america. i don't know why you need the ship for. unless you wanna go around the whole continent but i believe you can use a plane.

Virgin, before responding to this thread, it would have been great if you (a) read it and (b) took a look at a map of the US.

no society doesn't work that way why would you expect MB to work that way?

it's soooo much better to post a snarky, semi-witty comment dripping in sarcasm
