Reason vs Emotion

So for the last week or so, I have been operating completely logically and effectively, completing all my work when required, and not letting anything stop me. I didn't just apply this to work. I applied it to everything I said or did. Everything had a reason.
This phase probably had something to do with me reading Isaac Asimov and watching Dexter(I am easily influenced by anything i watch or read).

For the first couple of days, this was very satisfying. I was finally getting things done! Then when the novelty wore off, I found myself a bit...hollow. Frustration and restlessness started to overcome my determination, and finally I could take it no longer. I came out of the phase with a bang, lashing out at everyone I could. Now, I've returned to my original, relatively-calm self, and I find myself wondering what is the right way.

So I ask the members of this community: Do you let logic and reason rule your decisions or is emotion the driving force in your life?

Reason, most of the time. But that's not voluntarily :)

I think we are able to look at problems that haven't occurred yet and look at them more rationally and logically, but when it actually hits us we tend to turn to our emotions and sometimes they get the better of us. Take for instance, if you were thinking about how you would have a child and how you would raise it, but once it happens emotions tend to dictate our actions and what you were planning on doing originally could change drastically.

I don't know though, I feel like someone could probably explain this a lot better than an idiot like me ever could.

Or maybe I mean logic vs passion. Could those two go together? Doesn't seem likely..

Logic and passion don't go together if you ask me.
Try to explain passion, logically.

Even here I cannot explain my passion for music.

Very true. For example, my parents have always been over-protective, which I think has hampered my life experience, so I decided that if I ever have kids(I don't plan to), I'm going to let them enjoy their life. But it might not actually work out that way.

But then again, that might be interpreted as emotion, because I let the overprotectiveness of my parents dictate my logic.

Art and passion, now they go together :)

Very true.

If you think like a completely unemotional detached person, like a robot, you might consider music a complete a waste of time listening to noise, while simultaneously and slowly damaging your hearing capabilities.

I know I think more like a robot than most people do. Especially when it comes to friendship/relationship. I definitely am emotionally attached to my friends, but a lot of the things I do and say are experience, not 'feel'.
