I'd like to say that reason is the better option, but of course me saying that would be reason speaking. So it can't really be trusted. I'm sure if I were in a highly emotional state, I may answer differently.
It would be nice to have everything run on reason, but it's just not practical to expect people to not get emotional. Even Dexter gets emotional sometimes, it normally ends up with him making mistakes and almost getting caught, I think that's pretty realistic. Emotions aren't usually very good decision makers.

This is a tricky one. I think it'd depend on the situation. I'm emotional when I need to be, and am reasonable when I need to be. All other times I'm just flighty and distant.
EDIT: So this is almost like a left vs. right side of the brain thing. When I take a test to show which side I use more, it's almost always equal. Well, actually the right side usually wins by a small margin.
