Favourite Streams
I tried searching this but if there is another thread feel free to merge.
Just wondering if anyone has a favourite online stream/ radio/ channel to listen to? Came across 8tracks while searching plus I know there's a bunch in iTunes radio. I'm up for anything musically although I've been on a bit of a folky bent lately. Jazz/ soul/ funk/ thrash/ punk/ ambient/ folk/ alternative. Not a big fan of rap/ dance though but still up for a listen. |

We have two good FM stations here that both stream but you have to suss out their timetables to find the good shows. They cover a pretty wide variety of genres.
There's 3PBS who have some good soul/jazz shows. I like Soul Time, Soulgroove 66, Blue Juice. Also 3RRR. I tend to flick between PBS and RRR when I get sick of listening to my collection. |

There's a stream in the woods behind my house. It lacks crawfish, has boatloads of snapping turtles, and snakes like to hang out near it. It's pretty Calvin & Hobbes-esque.
I don't do audio streams.

Aw man and here I was looking forward to some good suggestions. Damn you guys and your clever ass puns.
The only live stream I've been listening is the EuroCup when I have to work. That's right. I'm full of useless posts tonight. |

Well, I'm usually pretty disappointed with online radio streams made by amateur internet users. There are always a couple of songs I like that get played, but everything else bores me to death.
As for actual professional radio stations, I like to listen to Jazz.fm 91 (out of Toronto). It rarely disappoints. I also sometimes enjoy CBC radio. Their musical variety is pretty good... |

I also found one that just plays jazz vibraphone apparently. BTW recommendations don't have to be limited to iTunes Radio, it's just that I listen to most of my music through iTunes as it is so the built in radio streams are more convenient than finding one through the browser and having to work out what I have to install to play it. |

Just realised 3PBS have put up audio of past shows as well so you can catch up on shows you missed. If you click on a particular show in the guide there are links to Program Audio Story for each show over the last couple of weeks. This should fill in some gaps in my listening. Not sure if they are available internationally though?
