It's just another social standard though. I really wouldn't mind having a girlfriend who is taller than me, but I don't run into too many women who happen to be taller than me (and I'm 6'2").

I feel like I like in the personality department and the physical department. I know people who are far more good looking than I and they have a better, more developed personality than me. Just because you don't have one, that doesn't mean you'll have the other.
Of course, some people will have both good looks AND good personalities, and some will have neither. Everything in the looks department (apart from your face) can be altered and improved though, your hair can be cut, your clothes can be changed, you can work out more, you can accessorise differently. Its about styling out what you have got, and feeling confident in yourself.

As for personality, no one is born with humour, no one is born with intelligence, no one is born with captivating anecdotes. These are all learned traits, and if others can learn them then so can you.

But the amount of difficulty people have is a large enough wall for most I think its safe to say there is a certain amount of control (or lack of control) people have over their ability to create a good personality (which definitely exists). I like my personality but I am quite up and down.

Well I'm 5'2 so there are rarely any guys shorter than me. Personally, I like boys to be taller than me, but it's not something I usually have to search for

I'm 5'11 and I'm really self conscious of my height. Short people only highlight this issue. Therefore I feel horrible, a short boyfriend just wouldn't work for me. I also like big guys so if they were shorter than me. I wouldn't see them as big, would I?

Women not dating shorter men than themselves is pretty shallow.
I sometimes wonder if the vanity of women choose their men like they would a pair of shoes, or a handbag, or any other accessory?

Big as in tall. I have a thing for tall men. But my last bf was the same height as me. Maybe about half an inch shorter.
