Another word I always used to have trouble with is exercise. Always used to spell it "excercise"

Strictly speaking, we all continually misspell names. For instance, all those German actors and film directors who worked in Hollywood. Many times the English pronunciation has become the "international standard", instead of the original one. Billy Wilder, Marlene Dietrich (maɐˈleːnə ˈdiːtʁɪç), etc. The same happens with Italian surnames.

Indeed, sometimes pronunciation changes everything....

Personally, there is just one thing that gets on my nerves. Every time I see this:
