A broken heart is one of the worst things, I think, because it shows you an ugly side of yourself. I for one did some really embarrassing **** when I broke up with my first love. Looking back, I can't believe I was so hopelessly emotionally attached to someone that I could do some of those things. It may have sucked, but I don't regret it. It taught me a lot about myself. For that reason, I don't think anyone should be averse to throwing themselves into it. If you can learn from what has happened, your next relationship will be all the better for it. I'm dating someone now who is great and I can safely say my feelings for her are even deeper and more meaningful than the first time around. This is because I knew what I wanted, what I didn't want, and I wasn't willing to budge when I met new people. Otherwise it's easy to fall back into the same crap.
