I think the best relationship one can have is where both people can shut the **** up and just enjoy silence together without wanting more.

All the people I consider good friends/family I can do that with.

Dumbest thing I've done to attract someone? I wrote a song about a girl not knowing that I liked her despite obvious signals. Somehow she heard the song and said she loved it... Annnndd still never got the message. Oh the irony.

i wrote a lot of songs about a lot of girls but never actually played them for them

mainly cos i felt it was rather personal

edit:- it's mostly the subject matter

e.g.

one was about a girl holding back and the song was me egging her to come on to me

another was an inter-racial thing and i was questioning issues of race (she's white)

the other one was a marriage proposal encrypted

i didn't think any of them would react favourably to the contents of each song

I actually agree, and my best mates and I have always had that, but I am talking about in party situations, where you are expected to have a laugh.

I agree with that. My boyfriend and I can sit together for hours without saying much to each other. It's really nice after a long day and neither of us wants to talk about it yet.
