So, I've been getting a little pudgy lately (I recently stopped taking my ADHD pills) , and I can't stay motivated to exercise at all. I tried doing exercises with mom for a bit but she kept making me get up at 5:00 AM in order to do them so I just gave up. how on earth could I stay motivated?

I didn't get the impression she was wanting others to get her motivated...just tips on how to motivate herself. I imagine a change in medication like the one she was on would have a substantial effect on that part of her life.

What kind of exercise do you like to do Dayvan? What is your beef with getting up at 5 am...just that it's too early and you like to sleep in? I'm not sure how long you tried her work out schedule, but it's been my experience (and that's all I have to go off of really) that working out in the morning like that can be pretty refreshing and get you ready to take on the rest of the day!

Also, do you have a Wii? The Wii Fit stuff kicks ass and has helped me stay on track with working out when I can't get to a gym or don't feel like doing a million crunches and/or push ups.

I seem to remember you posting somewhere here that you sometimes dance like crazy when you're alone in the house too...lol. Keep doing that! It's a great work out!

If you're looking for motivation to lose weight, you should set goals for yourself and then rewards, when you meet those goals.

If you're doing it to be healthier, put together a playlist of your favorite songs, get into some comfortable clothing and dive right into it. You'll find your motivation from how much better you feel after getting a good workout routine together.

eating raw carrots everyday says makes not just your eyes healthy but as well boosts your sexual libido. that's what i've heard.

you can motivate yourself to exercise by doing ones that you enjoy doing. Also look into different cardio activities that you may like to do. Once it's something that you find enjoyable, it won't be so much as a chore but you will get pumped up to go do it because you like doing it.

I heard that is BS about carrots making your eyes healthy. it's an old wives tale that got passed around and now everyone believes it. I haven't researched it to find out for myself but I keep hearing otherwise that it doesn't do that.

I don't believe they help with sexual libido either but once again, I'd have to research that to find out for sure. Oysters supposedly work and ginseng.

or maybe Oysters are just an aphrodisiac for some people the same way that chocolate is.

Dayvan why don't you create a playlist of some songs with a high BPM and go a jog. I love doing that. I'm sure you've got enough songs so you could change it each time so it doesn't make it boring .

Focusing on particular foods (carrot, for example) is very, very difficult to sustain for an appreciable amount of time. It makes more sense to just focus on the basics of (1) caloric intake vs. activity & (2) variety of food.
