Dumbbells are great! Until you drop them on yourself that is, I managed to drop a 38kg DB on my face a few weeks ago, that hurt like hell lol. But seriously, free weight training will use a lot more effort than machines will, more effort = more calories burned = ??? = profit

yeah, definitely. I'm doing a coaching course just now so I'm playing alot of Basketball, handball, football and the majority of the other big sports plus I lifeguard so swimming is pretty much mandatory  asides from that I haven't changed anything I'm eating except less junk food but that's mainly because right now the thought of it disgusts me. I wonder how long that phase will last? ha.

I have used them a few times before when my mate who's a PT makes me. I hate them because they're at the back of the gym, among all the men. Which is intimidating.

If your gym is anything like mine most of the men don't have a clue what they're doing anyway, so there isnt really a need to be intimidated. The only ones who will try and make you feel uncomfortable are the nob heads doing endless bicep curls, and you can just laugh at their puny arms and chicken legs where they dont lift properly or eat enough because they don't want to 'lose their abz'. The big guys who you think will be intimidating are the nicest people there if you are putting in the work, and they'll always offer advice or a spot of you ask for it, and once the skinny guys see you're friendly with the big guys that they themselves are scared by, they'll be scared to even look at you lol

In short, stop being a pussy and lift some heavy weights

Does anyone make smoothies for breakfast? I'm having them every morning with kale, spinage, chia seeds, pine nuts, berries, banana, plain yoghurt, a little milk. The nutrients from it is meant to attack fat cells in your body, improve your blood sugar levels (not spiking them like with plain sugar) and give you a huge energy boost.

As you run to the toilet to throw up

Liquid kale is so gross to me. I have tried it several times because people keep harping on about how good it is for you but it is so hard to stomach. I feel quesy just reading those ingredients for that smoothie. Juicing is such a big fad lately and I am heavily opposed to it.

Really? I didn't, in fact I feel full from it and I am on my second coffee.

It's fine when you grind it with banana, berries and honey. I can barely taste it. I don't honestly gaf about fads, I'm doing it because I've had a bad diet for a long time and I want to boost my nutrient intake. I am on day 2, so in a month I'll tell you whether it has boosted my energy levels and reduced my fat (obviously exercise needs to go with it).

1 - stay in caloric deficit
2 - get enough protein for muscles
3 - use weights to maintain and build muscles

You're addicted to the caffeine (as well as the other crap) from the energy drinks, and now your body is adjusting to the change.
