RIP

Pretty incredible to think that Deliverance was his first major role.

Raul de Souza (1934 - Sunday) is another one of those musicians that I had a less than stellar introduction to.
When I wrote for the Dallas Jazz News, I was given a copy of his 'til Tomorrow Comes" album which I panned because
of its disco shenanigans - "...apparently he was bone to disco..." Since then, I've begun to appreciate a bit more of his work as a sideman.

One of my all-time favorites from the instrumental rock and surf rock genres.

I find consolation in music when people leave you for ever..whether stars family friends.
we can all be very upset or really lost without them...sentimental of course.. this song by Russel Watson is fitting, well it is for me...maybe you also...

He is in his fifties now..He had a benign brain tumour 1st..then the last one was cancerous so had extensive brain surgery and he lives a pretty good life but has to follow a morning routine of a cocktails of drugs to help balance his hormones or he would die. He has talked about his position quite a lot over time and like my own Daughter has lost important glands that drain fluid from the body...He copes so does my own daughter..guess they have a good strong character...still cant help myself with a link though..
