The funny part is that homophobia not being addressed in hip hop was a talking point you could've genuinely made 20 years ago when DMX was still big. It's not longer a valid talking point.
Homophobia in hip hop is talked about and discussed openly and the genre has seen a significant shift in the prevailing attitudes towards lgbt issues. What is happening here is actually that someone who is not at all interested in hip hop or has any respect for it as an art form is hijacking a rappers death in order to scan lyrics from 20 years ago so he can make the tragedy about him and not the dead rapper. It's oppression olympics in its most naked and obnoxious form and I dont respect it for a second If there was a God in heaven then DMX would still be alive and Adidas would have his internet access revoked by the shariah courts. Inshallah. |
