I had tickets to see him and a couple other players back in 2011, but the tour was cancelled due to him having his leg removed from diabetic complications. Would have been epic.

[comment made after Gail Pappalardi shot her husband Felix]:

Leslie West: You want my advice? Buy your wife a diamond ring, some flowers, a push-up bra. Don’t buy her a gun.

I'm sure that it has already been mentioned here that John le Carré died.
Knowing nothing of his novels or the movies that were made around them,
I've still been fascinated by hearing him speak just a few years ago on
"Fresh Air" while I was in the car. An hour long interview with him -
from Democracy Now - that was re-broadcast on Xmas day
(in two parts in the videos below) was a real delight to hear
because it just cements my whole idea of him as a really great thinker -
much in the same way that I felt after hearing Lord Jonathan Sumption
one evening as part of the Reith Lectures (my wife offered comparisons to
Alan Watts as well this afternoon). Well worth spending the time here:

I don't know her but I'm sure all you do. Another one died at 82. Weird coincidence, huh?

I was thinking Mary Ann is probably still fairly warm an obviously she wouldn’t mind...
