Yeah Green River and Mudhoney were a part of it but to say they were the core is a bit of a stretch. Again, grunge isn't a style of music. Like Janz was saying it's just a marketing term. The Seattle scene was led by the big four. They represented a bit of diversity in the sounds coming out of the area when it came to Seattle rock music.
