Kind of reminds me of when George Carlin died. In early 2008 or late 2007, I was going to buy tickets to see him. Then, I wanted to do something else as well. I decided, "Hey, he's here every year," and went to an amusement park with my friends instead. A few months later, he died. Immense regret, having missed that opportunity.

Loretta Lynn is going to be in my town in a few weeks, and I'm definitely getting tickets to that, because I'd really hate to miss it. Especially with Loretta Lynn in her current state of health.

Also, my neighbor grew up ol' Loretty's childhood friend in Butcher's Holler, and everytime Loretta Lynn is in town, she's visiting my neighbor. Can't insert myself into that situation, though. My neighbor, Mrs. Smith, (my sisters and I call her Mrs. Butterworth, because Smith is such a boring last name) has really only had a conversation with me once, when my dog got her nose run over by the mailman. Other than that, we just wave at each other and smile when we both happen to be outside.
