David Pajo of Slint and many other bands has just tried to commit suicide, apparently. He posted an extremely detailed suicide note linked through his twitter. I'm not entirely sure if he's alive or dead at this point, but people are claiming that he has been saved. I hope he's alive, I mean ****.

Spiderland is my go to album when I'm feeling depressed and suicidal so I'm finding this pretty ****ed up.

Lesley Gore passed away today.

I can't stop crying. I absolutely can't explain the wrenching pain in my heart. I love her dearly.

"California Nights" (my personal favorite)

But loads of people know these two songs ...

"It's My Party"

with its sequel

"Judy's Turn to Cry"

and here's Lesley in action...

these songs are kind of silly and not great compositions or anything but I owe so much of my emotional survival to Lesley Gore.

I'm absolutely devastated over her passing.

Rissa,
I heard the news last night. I feel sorry for you, for your loss.

Love a bit of Lesley Gore. Girl Talk is a near perfect pop album. Not to mention the fact she was likely one of the first gay pop stars. RIP.
