Yeah, it really is a shame. If I had to pick I think I'd side with his daughters though, from the accounts I've read the wife seemed significantly less interested in his health.

Plus, he was Shaggy! I remember that blowing my mind as a kid.

Dementia sucks, it's a horrible way to die. I remember having to take all of my gran's mirrors away from her because she'd think it was someone spying on her and she'd go nuts screaming at her reflection.
