I was more of a Peter Tork person myself, but yeah, Nesmith was certainly the most innovative of the four Monkees. He probably would have made it on his own anyway.

I guess that just leaves Mickey Dolenz now.

This one was with his First National band, around 1971 I think

Truly, el rey de la música ranchera!
For me, his voice always brought me back to my time in west Texas in ‘74.
Here he is doing Volver, Volver - a favorite to ask for when the mariachi comes around to the dinner table.

Yeah, we spent 4 days going to a lot of the same concerts and hanging out -
going to have Ethiopian and Indian food together on a couple of occasions.
