I mean I don't know how Europe is but in America race relations are all tied in knots in any number of ways for obvious reasons and white people being scared of critisizing black people over cultural issues is one of them. That fear itself is complicated as I explained in my previous post cause there's real reasons for white people to see calling out a historically oppressed race as a minefield but yeah there's also homophobia that makes it less of a priority than it could be and a lack of a moral high ground that everyone but conservatives recognizes as basically unavigable. Conservatives not caring about any of this **** and just wanting to throw lightning bolts from on high to anyone not living up to their standards because they have no self awareness.

All I know is that anytime a rapper dies we mustn't miss the opportunity to scan their catalogue for any signs of problematic language so that we can retroactively chastise the deceased for their thoughtcrimes. Otherwise the bigots win.

America sure is more of a minefield when it comes to racism than Europe, but if I don't catch on to these things it's definitely also my naive whiteness

The funny part is that homophobia not being addressed in hip hop was a talking point you could've genuinely made 20 years ago when DMX was still big. It's not longer a valid talking point.

Homophobia in hip hop is talked about and discussed openly and the genre has seen a significant shift in the prevailing attitudes towards lgbt issues.

What is happening here is actually that someone who is not at all interested in hip hop or has any respect for it as an art form is hijacking a rappers death in order to scan lyrics from 20 years ago so he can make the tragedy about him and not the dead rapper. It's oppression olympics in its most naked and obnoxious form and I dont respect it for a second

If there was a God in heaven then DMX would still be alive and Adidas would have his internet access revoked by the shariah courts. Inshallah.

I guarantee if one of the main crimes of your colonialism was living right next to you'd feel it much harder. I don't know about Dutch imperialism but imagine if the people of the Congo were all living in Belgium. Belgium might feel a bit awkward about its race relations.

yeah our main colony was Indonesia and that history is also vile (although not as bad as what happened in the US); there are quite a lot of Indonesians living in Holland but that's still not the same thing of course.

What's great about Ireland is anyone who tried to conquer us usually ended up being conquered by the country, ie marrying our colleens and settling down. Vikings, Normans, Old English: you name it, they've become Irish.
