I didn’t think he was a whole decade older than Eno.

Looking like $50 right now. His entire catalog will be queued for the remainder of my week. <3 |
It's a very worthwhile and treasurable thing to hear and understand you. Thank YOU.
I'll be listening to Budd this week, as well. <3 |
Sad to see Charley Pride go. Legend in the blues/country genre, died from complications from guess what? RIP.

A luscious voice that couldn’t be denied
The only black guy I ever remember seeing on Hee Haw |
The only song of his I know, and only because my elder sister (not Karen) had it when she was younger. Think it was in the charts. I was am-azed to find out the guy was black. He sure didn't sound it. Also, a black guy in country music was, so far as I knew, pretty rare, though of course I might be well wide of the mark there.

Are you sure the version you grew up on wasn’t the Charlie Rich version?
|
You know, it could be. I would have been at school at the time, so Charlie this or Charlie that, I probably wouldn't have cared. Let me listen to the two versions and see if they sound different to me.
Edit: Yeah, you got me. It was Rich not Pride. Oh well, still a great song and still RIP Charley Pride. Wow, this is really my day for ****ing up and making a fool of myself isn't it? In other words, just like every other day... :shycouch: |

Let’s just say it’s probably for the best you’re not giving a eulogy at his funeral I’m glad you posted it though. He had a great voice. Even though he had a long life I still feel like covid deaths are a rip off because it really didn’t have to let it run rampant like we did. It’s definitely not going to be looked back on with pride but at least I know that I personally behaved correctly. |
