Pets dying, to me, is almost if not the same pain I would feel if I lost a family member. If I lost my cat, it'd be like losing my brother or best friend. But that's how I feel about all death tbh. Always seems to be the one thing I take pretty hard.

I can't relate tbh, had a dog die who I had for about 17 years and while I was sad I was pretty much over it after a week or so whereas if something happened to my parents/sibling I would struggle to cope. But then I am close to my family.

We're just different people I guess. Maybe I invest more care into my pets but I'm assuming you at least cared for the dog

Perspective is fine. As we all know, we were pretty destroyed about Bowie and, to some extent, Prince, but nobody was looking for time off work for it (I wouldn't get it anyway: she's a bitch when it comes to holidays!) but at the same time, personal grief, even if you didn't personally know the individual who has passed, should be respected and not mocked. Unless you're Hawk, of course.

Same with Robin Williams, and so many others. Personal connections cause personal grief.

I did, my parents got him not long after I was born so I grew up with him and was 18 when he died. He was cool.

Do you have his Les Halles cookbook? I've done a couple from that. Grand meals for sure.
