Yeah, it made me sad to hear this news too. Not only is 46 too young, but she remains even younger in my memory. That's because my memory of The Cranberries centres on this charming video clip in which Dolores O'Riordan comes across as the carefree adolescent from next door:-

That was really nice. She had a very unique way of using her instrument. Reminiscent of Sinead O'Connor. I wonder if it had to do with the accent to my American ears.

Even though I was never a big Cranberries fan her voice is very iconic of the mid 90s at least for me.
