In the mid-90s I saw her play in a basement and, afterwards, bought her excellent 'untitled' album on vinyl just as an excuse to talk to her for 30 seconds. Before I saw her band play I only knew of her as "Smog's-ex" and I have always been jealous of Bill Callahan for that reason alone.
