I'm pretty sure that the only things Jesus explicitly mentions are "love God" and "love thy neighbour." Paul adds some stuff about not eating the meat of strangled animals. It's been a while since I studied this stuff—I may be wrong.

You don't know for certain that African Americans commit more violent crimes. We only know that they're prosecuted for them at a higher rate per capita. The rest is a known unknown.
As for your hypothesis that beliefs don't lead to action I find that dubious. Do you believe that certain ethnic groups have a genetic predisposition to violence? I doubt that you do. Are you arguing that religion doesn't correlate with beliefs? Are you arguing that religion is just one of many factors? Are you arguing that religion has no influence on behavior? I'm arguing that religion reflects belief and beliefs lead to action. I'm pointing that out to make it clear to you what you seem to want to dismantle as it seems you're running out of legs to stand on. |

It is though. Its in the same vein as people not cursing in front of their mothers or acting out of character for their family or whoever else they put on pedastal. The fear of god can be equally as influential on bad behavior as the love of god is on good behavior.

As deeply as I despise Christianity, there's no way I would argue that violent people are NEVER inspired to adopt the ways of pacifism through the scripture of the Sermon on the Mount, for example. People read it. It influences them. Changes their beliefs. And their behavior changes. To argue that this never happens is preposterous.
