Guitarist J. Geils dead at 71. My first ever arena show was the J. Geils band on their home field of Boston Garden in 1974. This was long before the MTV version of the band. Back when they'd rock the ****ing roof off the house.

RIP

I liked both versions, the MTV version and back when they'd rock the anchovies off the pizza version.

This is for you J.

... RIP J Geils

Sad to hear that. Can't say I'm surprised to hear of his passing, though. I saw him sit in for a couple of songs with James Cotton at a show a little over a year ago and he looked shockingly old and sickly. He had to sit down to play his guitar and even then he looked and sounded like he was struggling to get through the songs.

R.I.P.
