There's no downfalls to capitalism or the free market, so why would they teach about it. Anyway, I assume you're talking about pre-college education? I'm thinking higher education so I apologise if the youth are getting more accurate information.

Works=\=infallible. There are oodles of problems that capitalism opens itself up to, it's naive to think otherwise.

That's idiotic. Why would you distrust the government while trusting unelected people with disproportionate levels of access to and influence on politicians? I'm not a communist or anything, but I still see corporations as a power that potentially competes against my interests the same as any other force in politics, regardless of whether or not I support them. It's just common sense.

Agreed. Capitalism feeds into humans' propensity for greed. But I'm not an AP economics professor, which is why I asked. So, why do the profs praise capitalism?

Corporate favoritism
Unethical business practices gaining momentum in industries because of successful profit margins
Workers and small businesses getting ****ed
Naive populace (this is you)

The first one is just so massive.

What makes you think I trust unelected (or elected) people in regards to their influence on politics? I'm completely against that. What makes you think I support it?

Because if they had restrictions that prevented them from bribing and influencing legislation, it wouldn't be a free market.

Hmm, I guess maybe you actually didn't learn anything about capitalism.
