Turned on the tube just in time to see the end of a ticker tape at the bottom of the screen saying John McLaughlin dead. It was like getting punched in the stomach.

Waited for it to come around again only to find out they were talking about the newsman and not the guitarist. Phew.

RIP Mr. McLaughlin. You were the pioneer of that format which unfortunately has gotten totally abused by so many in this day and age.
