Government Issue's John Stabb Dead After Battle With Cancer

I quite like Government Issue, this stings especially hard.

Never heard him before, but this video on the post is amazing. I am grabbing that album now to hear whole thing.

Anyone with the name Isao Tomita sounds certifiably badass. I'm grabbing the album as well.

Big news over here today about Mr. Tomita.

I've been a huge fan of his rendition of The Planets at least since I was a teenager. Very sad to hear the news. RIP. :(

He died in Hiroo, an upscale neighborhood in central Tokyo, so it's geographically quite close to us. At least he got one last Golden Week in before he passed. Look at the cover of Snowflakes are Dancing:

That's a carp flag, traditionally flown on May 5th in Japan (it's a national holiday). He died on May 5th.
