2016 is turning out to be the ****tiest year in a long time for losing muso giants.

RIP Keith Emerson.

Well, we kinda knew this was coming, he's been in poor heath for a while, but it still hurts.

I just posted this a couple days ago

Literally, I got home from work and clicked on my bookmark for Pitchfork and said to myself, "I wonder who has died today?" First thing I saw was the headline on the front page about Keith Emerson. Answered my question!

Didn't know he'd been in poor health. Sad story.

So he had nerve damage and was losing feeling in hands making it so he couldn't play keyboards any more...

Was there anything else?

I'm not saying that wouldn't be crushing but it doesn't seem like enough to make life seem completely not worth living. He could still enjoy literature and listening to music and live somewhere beautiful in a nice home with great views.

That's really sad. A loss and at least from what I know also a waste.

If I lost the ability to play music it'd be pretty hard to cope with, even with all of the other ways that I can occupy my time. I imagine I'd still find a way though.

No wonder he was suffering from depression. People dissing on this man? Humans suck.

Dude had chops as good as any classical pianist on the planet yet always played with a hard rock attitude.

The Madison Square Garden organist was playing ELP songs during the stoppages at the Rangers/Penguins game on NBC today, the announcers didn't notice but I did.

I always wondered who the next deceased Beatle would be, Ringo or Paul... I guess it's Martin.

I hear when they all die, a secret Beatle album will be released.
