Musicbanter iOS App

I've been throwing around the idea of creating a Musicbanter iPhone / iPod Touch / iPad native application (with the permission and authorization of the site's owners and operators of course). Maybe something that notifies you when your subscribed threads have been updated, allows you to quick reply to them, gives you acces to PM's and who's online.

Curious, is anyone here a member of the Apple Developer Program? It's a $99 subscription fee, that I'm not all that thrilled about having to pay.

I'm comfortable with creating a functioning GUI, and somewhat confident that I could do the coding (using Objective-C, Xcode & iOS SDK). And maybe some of the other technically inclined member on here could help as well.

(Now don't hold me to this guys, it's just an idea)

Thoughts?

Your biggest challenge is going to be getting the admin to give a shit that you have an idea in the first place.

If you can get over that, good luck.

great idea but save it for the new site that might be coming soon.

I also have an idea but I'm saving it for the new site because Admin can give two shits about what happens around these parts.

I've apparently been out of the loop for too long, I had no idea there was a new site coming.

And I don't see how an iOS application could be called pretentious, especially a hypothetical one.

read up on it.

We are just making fun of Apple in general and calling it hipster/pretentious. Not the idea of an app.

Make the app for Android instead, with the android platform being open, it'll be much easier to do.

It'll also mean you can just port to iOS later after demand has been gauged.

It'll also mean I can use it.

I though about that, as working with an open-source linux kernal would be much easier. But I don't have an Android device, nor do I ever plan on getting one. I use an iPhone. I'm not going to put time, effort, and money into a project and not be able to personally reap the rewards. Call me selfish.
