And I would stay away from any iDEN phone (they're model numbers all start with an "i" followed by some numbers.) They run off of the old Nextel network that Sprint purchased years ago, buy they don't utilize any of Sprint's towers (which are all CDMA). And Sprint is truning the iDEN network off at the end of 2011, unless they can sell it to T-Mobile (which doesn't look very likely at this point).

If you are looking at the Motorola Atrix, you might also check out the HTC Inspire. The Inspire has a bigger screen (4.3'' vs 4.0''), same speed processor (1 GHz), same OS (ships with Android 2.2, later upgradeable to 2.3), and a better camera (8 MP vs 5 MP). The Atrix also has MotoBlur, which most people tend to get tired of after a while.
the main reason I was going to get the i1 is because I'm on Boost's plan and my uncle still contacts me via the chirp thing.

As for my apple rant well here I go.

It all started when i was looking for mp3 players at Best Buy one day years ago. I put up an iPod next to a creative zen player to compare the video demos and iPod's video quality was just not up to par. So, I'm like why the eff are people paying more for something of sub quality? Oh that's right because it's popular and Apple likes to boast that they are user friendly. Bleh whatever I want quality for my money. If you are going to rape my wallet at least give me top notch quality.

Ever since that faithful day, I have been anti-Apple. Then it ventures into the whole idea that Steve Jobs doesn't want to allow flash on iPhones and I hate how iTunes is instilled into everything and I just hate iTunes in general. **** paying a dollar for each single. I bought a zune and I'm happy with their zune pass even though I do download with torrents and mediafire from time to time as well. I just hate how apple products are so restricting and there isn't too much wiggle room for customization. I would NEVER buy an iPhone, iPad or anything of that nature. I will always look for a far superior product. If I wanted a tablet. I would get a Xoom, far superior than both the iPad and the iPad2.

I have the iPhone 3G. I've had it for 2 years now, so I am eligible for an upgrade. I'll probably get another iPhone. My friend has an Android, and it just doesn't appeal to me.

The reason they don't allow flash is because it's so unstable. Flash is fucking up my computer right now actually! And the reason they aren't customizable is all because of design. The more options there are, the higher the chance is of something going wrong. It's also pretty pointless. Back in the day I used to think the same way. I hated that Facebook wasn't customizable, and that Myspace was. I can't change my background? I can't edit my profile? This is shit! You could do anything you wanted on Myspace! But once I learned more and more about design, I realized why. Apple's design is unbelievable. Their stores, their products, their packaging, their advertising, etc. I think that's why I like them so much! It's the designer in me.

Nice, iDEN is the only network technology that let's you chirp for free. You can use "Push-To-Talk" on most other carriers, but they charge extra. And Boost Mobile's plans are impossible to beat. If you stay with them for 18 months, you can get unlimited talk/text/web for $35/mo.

That's the main reason most people dislike iPhones. I agree, it should use Flash. Jobs views Flash as a dying/obsolete technology, and prefers H.264 and HTML5. But why not incorporate it anyway, just to cover all your bases. It really stems back to how crappy Flash used to run on the Mac OS. Apple blamed the glitches on Macromedia (who was later acquired by Adobe), and Macromedia blamed them on Apple. It's really just two sides refusing to back down.

On a side note, all of the WebKit browsers (including Safari on the iPhone) are going to start incorporating "Walaby," which will automatically convert most flash files into HTML5, thus letting it be displayed on your iPhone.

I've had 2 Zunes (80GB and 120GB) and I absolutely loved them both. I didn't care much for the software to load them (Zune Marketplace or w/e it's called), but the hardware was amazing. I loved that little 'squirkle' track pad. And the ability to wirelessly transfer content between Zunes that were near each other was awesome. I never subscribed to the Zune pass, but I am curious about it. I know it's $15/mo for unlimited downloading, but do you lose your downloaded songs if you fail to renew your Zune pass, or do you always own the content?

Yeah, I'm working on that plan at the moment. In about two months or so my bill should be down to 45 instead of the 50 that it is at right now.

You don't lose all of the downloaded songs because they are still in your collection but you lose the right to play them until you renew your Zune pass but what they do now is they give you 10 free songs each month. Those 10 free songs you can keep for whenever you stop paying for the pass.

I liked that it has a radio and the ability to transfer content wirelessly as well

An FM tuner would be awesome in the iPhone. There's also talk of implementing IR controls and NFC (Near Field Communication) into it, allowing you to simply wave your iPhone over a sensor to pay. They call it the "iWallet."

I hear that Microsoft has stopped working on zune devices and they are throwing their development behind Windows 7 phones.

What is your opinion on those?

I haven't done much research on them. I just know that they use the zune software and can access your account.

Very true. Microsoft has stopped manufacturing Zune hardware. They're putting the bulk of their attention towards Windows Phone 7. I personally like the new OS. It incorporates Zune as it's media player, it has Windows Marketplace to buy apps, a great web browser, and it has Netflix (which is only available on WP7 and iOS). Screw Android. It can also wirelessly sync your contacts, bookmarks, favorites, etc, from your PC.

I use a Samsung Gravity. It's just a standard talk/text phone with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
