Doctor, Doctor!
Right, I am in serious back pain, waiting for Physio to call so I can get some therapy, but in the mean time does anyone have any advice for me to relieve the pain and uncomfort?
I fell over in the liquification on the day of the earthquake and stuffed it that way. I've tried ibuprofen, anti-flam cream, a massage and a hot water bottle. Any ideas? This thread can be dedicated to anyone else that wants to discuss medical issues. Obviously none of us here are doctors but there's no harm in discussing things. |
Did you get a professional massage or one from a friend? I've had back problems for awhile now. I guess that happens from sleeping on your stomach on couches for two years. I went and got a professional massage like two months ago and my back has felt really great ever since. It actually hurt and made me cringe, she was damn rough with her elbows and hands but it got all the knots out of my neck and back. She was hott too, so trying to not get a boner was not easy, but I succeeded and now have a better back.

Well that's the plan, I hope to get an appointment this week but who knows. I just am finding it really difficult to sleep with the pain until then.

Do you have a heating pad? Before I got a massage I would lay on my back in bed with a heating pad under me which felt good. How do you sleep usually, on your back?
|
No heating pad, but I'll try a hot water bottle again. I actually usually sleep on my side but I think tonight I'll sleep on my back with the hot water bottle under it. Hopefully that will do. Thanks for your ideas though.

I guess it depends on what went wrong in your back.
Try to choose comfortable ways of sitting to relieve the pain temporarily. And just demand massages. You know you want to. |
Ugh, I can relate to back pain. For the past year or so I get pretty bad pain pretty much every time I do physical activity for more than an hour. I have kyphosis, aka a hunchback, and even though mine isn't that bad, it still causes me a lot of pain, emotionally and physically. I do some excercises to help make it straighter and to relieve the pain. These are helping a lot, so hopefully the pain will be entirely gone soon.

It's probably Karma, try doing something good.
