Peace Protestors.
Now, either they are a walking contradiction- or they just do it for fashion. but a lot of so called "peace protestors" actually completely go against their "beliefs" by inciting violence with the opposers (police). now, how can a group of people who oppose violence and suffering actually cause voilence? and people protesting against war in a far off asian country go and cause havoc in their own capital city of their own country- also completely defacing hyde park with their litter. they annoy me intensely. your views?

I guess peace protestors who use violence maybe they think small sacrifices are necessary to help their cause and promote peace on a larger scale, otherwise police and whoever they are protesting against would just have them removed with the wave of a hand. I'm not saying its right, I just think that might be their logic.

i agree completely with you Led Zep, however, sometimes I wonder if it is just a show of how violent the police can be when violent gestures begin...they are supposed to be peace officers, but they hurt more than violent protesters could because they have the LEGAL weapons and the POWER!

Then you obviously don't know the meaning of protest. Read up on your history.

Exactly, the idea that being a peacefull protester is non existant is sooooo outrageous. Once again the best example is the civil rights movement. Have you ever heard of a little old lady called Rosa Parks or the Montgomry Bus Boycott? To deny that peaceful protest is non effective or a contradition of ideas is just plain silly.
So you dont like the idea that people protest an injust war and want peace, that pretty messed up man. How can they oppose police you ask? Do you realize that no matter if the police shoot the first bullet, throw the first punch, or shove the first protester the protesters are going to be blamed? Its not often you hear about police starting riots, its always blamed on the protesters. Even in outrageous incidents like at Kent state the protesters were pegged with the blame(fortunetly no one belived the police, a picture speaks a thousand words) I just cant belive that you are ingnorant enough to blame protesters for "trashing" a park, and miss the entire picture. Trashing a country seems like a little more of a problem than trashing a park. Your being swindled day in and day out and all you can do is blame the people that are trying to make a change for a better life for all of us? Its pretty sick when people cant aknoledge whats acctually hapening in the world around them and instead choose to whine about something as small as a picket sign left on the ground.

im fully aware of the real peace protests in history where peace was actually in play. and though im offended by the amount of deaths to our troops and innocent iraqi people this war has amounted, i just cannot see what these protests are actually doing. half the people i saw in these protests were just uni students trying to look cool or tagging along with mates because they had nothing better to do.thats the annoying thing- that they didnt seem to actually care. and yes, the fact they were defacing their own city did annoy considering a main concept of peace is a "prosperous environment"...yeah so lets just litter hyde park. and contrary to what your saying about the police instigating most of the violence- from what i saw, it was actually the peace protestors. my rant basically is why cant the protestors actually adhere to the rules ans regulations, cause no trouble and just conduct the protests amicably. while putting their rubbish in the bin

If you want peace you must prepare for war.
