I know, thats why I was asking what is something that can be used in its place that is still polite, but alot less formal. I dont think there is a polite, informal way of addressing a woman whose name you dont know!

Even I always hold doors open for people, what pisses me off is 12 or so people going through whilst I still stand there like a mug holding it, and none of the bastards even say thank you to me. Pisses me right off. As for slating accents, it's repulsive stop it. I feel when I'm out of the country nobody can understand me, texans just get it more of the time. I know how they feel so even I don't like it.

Yeah but that's very impolite. I've done it in extreme cases but I hated it.
