Being so hateful can't possibly be good for you...
Of course, the accents aren't severe to you because you've been around it all of your life so you get used to it and adopt it. If you take someone from the north and send them to the south for the weekend it will be very severe because they aren't used to hearing the English language violated in that manner.

I always open doors for both men and women alike and become extremely annoyed if they don't say thank you. Especially women as I have always equated this with being a gentleman and I have been told that chivalry is a dying art. No fricking wonder really.
the second and third is just being polite and having manners. I wouldn't really call it a quirk either.

Part of chivalry being a dying art is on the other side of the coin. They don't have manners to appreciate when someone is being chivalrous and part of that is maybe because they don't see it often.

I have one for the thread, when I meet people for the first time I have to shake their hand in the most traditional handshake position. No fist bump, no upwards shake, its the traditional 'I am an adult' handshake as I see it. If I like the person after the first interaction, I will shake their hand every time I greet them, whereas if I didnt really care for them I'll only say hello and give them a head nod, unless they are with someone I did like and do shake hands with, just so as not to disrespect them.

This next one is going to sound really sexist, but I say 'sir' at the end of 'thank you' if I am served somewhere by a male, but dont say 'ma'am' if its a woman I just leave it as the 'thank you'. I feel like ma'am is far more formal and makes things awkward in most situations in comparison to sir, and dont know of any more casual ways to reference a lady in that situation.

Really, I hate the South. Were I to have my druthers, they wouldn't be allow to leave their states. Their culture is about as alien to the Midwest as it can get; christ, I swear I can understand Jackie Chan's engrish better than the average Southerner who, when not spitting tobacco, is spitting out mutilated words, with amputated suffixes and conjoined syllables.
That's funny. I have this quirk where it really annoys me when people are hateful, prejudiced, and lump large groups of people by archaic and brutish stereotypes.

They lack sidewalks and insist on frying everything which may be why they're all fat. The air is constantly wet. They don't know how to handle an inch of snow. Never been there, don't really GAF but for some reason I'm really attracted to dudes from the south because they seem to be smarter and more interesting. Being surpressed builds character I guess.

Accents in general do not bother me. I'm not used to Northern accents, but I don't hate people because of it... It just seems illogical and immature

Focusing on "perceived sameness" isn't love... humans are perfectly capable of loving each other with or without having different characteristics. Who says we have to hate those differences, too?

Also, focusing on "that which differentiates us" is illogical, too. At least, in a negative sense, due to the fact it causes separation and animosity (which can be counterproductive).

ugh hand shaking kind of weirds me out. I don't know how clean people's hands are. I rather do a fist pump than have to shake someone's hand then all I can think about is washing my hands or getting to some hand sanitizer quick!

The general response I get from calling women ma'am is that they claim it makes them feel old so they don't like to hear it.

Accents don't have much effect on me but I do understand how it'll bother someone to have to deal with an accent they aren't used to.

I find it a bit weird how people find certain accents sexy. Accents do absolutely nothing for me.

I handshake them. If it's an important occasion, I will give them a power embrace.

I do exactly what Il Duce does, unless it's someone in a position of authority (professor, boss, etc.).
