People misusing apostophes. Seriously, how hard is that? If it's plural you DO NOT use one, if it's possessive you DO.
So it's "Lots of great offers!" NOT "Lot's of great offer's!" Even worse is when people can't decide and don't put anything in, or use the old "apostrophe after an s or not" idea (which, to be fair, can be a little hard to understand). Also, this idea of saying something costs "one nine nine"! Are people really that stupid that you have to take the "hundred and" out of it, not to mention the currency? Or that much in a hurry? Oh, and text speak! God how I hate that!

Oh sorry, thought of one more: the usage of words beginning with h! Suddenly it's the thing to do to put "an" in front of a word like hotel, heritage, hospital. What is this? It's "a historic occasion", not "an historic occasion"!! When did this start? It's everywhere now. What's next? "An happy birthday to you"?

Religious nuts. Not your everyday practicing christian, but I mean those that are nuts. You know, the ones that want to force their religious down your throat, believe the stupid stuff like it's a sin to wear clothing of both wool and cotton, being gay is bad, ect.
On the flipside, I hate anti-religious people. Personally being an atheist, I find these people to be complete idiots. "You want to openly practice you religion? How about I shove my beliefs down your ignorant throat!!!" /rant |

You want to elaborate on that? How can you hate religious zealots AND anti-religious people? If you're, as you say, an atheist, are YOU not anti-religious? And if not, what do you consider that to be? I don't believe, really, but was brought up as a RC so have some residual belief there as a sort of genetic marker, but I'd consider myself anti-religious in that I hate the insititution of the Church and its power, and the way it (was) let get away with so much just because of what it was. I also hate the way religions of all kinds are used to justify wars, killing, torture, rape, prejudice, invasion and so on. So does that make me anti-religious? Damn right it does! Do you hate me then?

He means the kind of atheists that are just like these zealots, the ones that furiously rage at all that is religious.
I am like that, sometimes, but only when a theist comes with a ridiculous argument (Evolution? Bull****! Oh wait I can't say "****" due to my beliefs D=) or when they're trying to shove their religion down my throat. Then they're just begging me to make fun of them. Another point of fury is the group of people who hate all curse words. Why do I dislike these people? Well, the thing is that, to me, a curse word on itself is not a bad thing at all because it's just a word. When I hurt myself and say "Fuck!" that shouldn't be offensive to anyone, right? It's not the word that is bad, but the implication. When I say "shit" because I bumped my head against something, it's something entirely different than when I tell someone he's a "piece of shit". In the first example, I used it to express my dissastisfaction because I bumped my head. It feels good to let that out, ya know. In the second example, however, I clearly meant to offend someone. However, I can also offend someone without using any of these "bad words". When I sarcastically say "Oh, you must've been the smartest kid on your school!", I mean to say the guy in question is fucking stupid, so it doesn't make it any more justified than when I say "Oh, you're fucking stupid". Anyone who feels negative towards these words doesn't understand that the positive or negative load in words come with the implication, the way somebody says it, and not THAT someone says it. Rant over. |

People who knowingly tell me the same stories (or worse, the same complaints) day in and day out. Get out more, friend-o, and stop trying to infect me with your terminal negativity...
