Did some research, it's actually belgian cheese.
There's a Limburg in Belgium too :).
It's made near the border of the Netherlands in Luik (Liège).

Obviously an immigrant cheese then. You know, the kind that's been lying around moulding long enough to develop extremities.

It definitely smells like it has been lying around long...
