My parents try to convince me how good this or that singstar with the stars on ice kid is time and time again. I wish they'd listen to generic alternative music. That way I could at least 'not care'. Now their lack of interest in any real music annoys me every ****ing day. |

And do you like or dislike the way it's pronounced here? |
Actually, the only difference is I've been saying it like you'd say "Bianca", except with the "bi". So it's pretty small (at least, I think it is).

Location: Williamsport, Pennsylvania, USA Music preference: Classic Rock, Indie How long have you been a member? 4 months What made you join a music forum? My music library was boring, so I was hoping to find new and interesting music to listen to. So I turned to one place where I knew I would get suggestions and whatnot, an Internet forum. How come you choose MB as your music community over other music communities? Honestly, it was the first active one I came across. Seemed to be a good place to try and settle down for some serious music discussion. How does Music make you feel and what it means to you? Music is something special for me, sometimes it can calm my rage or wear away depression. A certain song, heard at the right time, can make the rest of my day wonderful or terrible. Emotionally, it is the one thing that unsettles me, and I need that. Tell me what makes the MB online forum work for you and keep you coming back for more? Like others have said, there is a strong sense of community here and I would like to become a part of that at some point. I just feel like I am still getting my bearings here though, almost like a perpetual first day of school. Describe an interesting experience you had on the forum? Hrmm, haven't been here long enough to provide one, sorry. What have you learned or what will you take away from your experiences here? My biggest gain here has been the amount of music diversity I have discovered. While I haven't necessarily had a social experience to take away from here that would be life changing. I can certainly say that the musical knowledge I take away is well worth the time spent here. Let me know of any other points that you feel might interest me negative/positive about your experiences regarding being involved in a Music forum and its Members, now's your chance? Because the english version of Bianca sounds different from the dutch version :D. The Dutch are very creative with pronouncing names anyhow. A friend of mine is called Chloë but it's pronounced in a way you couldn't possible fathom :D. |

Location: the cooler part of an apparently barren hellhole. Music preference: the kind that makes me feel something i perceive as positive. How long have you been a member? going on 3 years. What made you join a music forum? to further develop my musical ideas with like minded people and develop more creative approaches to my music. How come you choose MB as your music community over other music communities? the other one died. this one actually got noted as a successor / ripoff due to the layout and overall organization - we were just sore ours died. what made me do more than just check out the place was the fact that the instruments forum had activity. being able to pass on what little i've gleaned about playing music is another way of making me feel like the time isn't wasted. How does Music make you feel and what it means to you?music makes me feel alive, it's the sound of nature, a reflection of life in a moment that will never exist again. it's so much more than just the sounds you hear. Tell me what makes the MB online forum work for you and keep you coming back for more? the instruments forum. knowing there will always be some teenager stressing out about what to do for his first guitar and being able to chuckle to myself as i remember doing the same thing back in the 90s. Describe an interesting experience you had on the forum? getting random PMs from people offering me music. still feel bad for not reciprocating yet. What have you learned or what will you take away from your experiences here? yes Let me know of any other points that you feel might interest me negative/positive about your experiences regarding being involved in a Music forum and its Members, now's your chance? something specific to music (instruments) forums is the feeling of satisfaction you get when you know you've helped someone learn a new skill or helped them further develop their technique. it was the main reason i joined in the first place. Hi everybody, I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to fill out the questionnaire. The response has been so much better than I ever expected and given me a lot of material to enjoy and aid my assignment.
My assignment is due in this week, and I have taken every single response into account when doing my research!! So THANK YOU again! I've also practically used a line or two from everyone who contributed as quotes to support my assignment...SO if you have a change of mind and don't want to be included please let me know. As far as the thread goes....I think it is a fantastic piece of MB insider thoughts and opinion from the various members and I hope that people continue to feel free to contribute to it as it is a great resource for the community. So that's it. Thank you again everybody and keep an eye out for my assignment as I will be posting it back into the community on correction in the next few weeks  Musicnative |
