Thanks to everyone who participated in the open discussion for this years awards. Your opinions have been taken on board and a few changes made in the nomination categories.

All members now have the opportunity to vote for any MB member you wish in each category. This will then allow me to draw up a multiple choice list of candidates for each award based on the submissions of the community as a whole and will commence a voting round where you can vote for the member you want to win each award.

Please be honest in your voting and nominate the member you feel most accurately fits the descrption. This ensures that the vote is fair, without bias, and that your vote is counted but also that if the member you nominated doesnt make the list, you can still participate fully in the voting round and have your say.

• Only nominate ONE member for each category.

Please send your nominations list to me via PM or if you wish to do so, post it here in this thread. You have until 21st December to get them in and the final voting round will run from 22nd -31st of December. The results will be posted in the new year.

Most Underrated Poster - The site's biggest underdog - someone who's positive impact on the forums is generally underappreciated or often goes unnoticed.
Smartest poster - The forums smartest member.
Most Missed Poster - The member who's presence on the boards you missed the most in 2010 due to their long periods of absence or inactivity.
Best Journal - The best Members Journal.
Biggest Drama Whore - The member who most often surrounds him or herself with drama.
Sexiest Member (male) - The male member with the most sex appeal.
Sexiest Member (female) - The female member with the most sex appeal.
Best argumentalist - The member who's best at discussing and communicating intelligently and effectively.
Worst argumentalist - The complete opposite. The member who's presence in a discussion is usually the most disruptive
Best Writer - The best writer on the site, whether they are writing a review, a summary of their day, a rant and everything inbetween.
Biggest music nerd - The member who's most knowledgeable about music.
Funniest member - The member with the best sense of humour and who often makes you laugh.
Angriest member - The bitterest member, a cynic who often responds with hostility and bitterness towards new and old members
Nicest member - The kindest member, always makes an effort to treat people well, with respect, and to be nice.
Biggest Troll - The member who's presence anywhere in the forums is most disruptive
Biggest contributor - The member who's posts and threads have contributed the most to the overall quality of the site in 2010.
Most Improved Member - The member who's somehow improved the most in his or her behaviour on the site in the past 12 months.
Most virtuosic - The member with the highest level of skill with an instrumental ability.
Best avatar - The best member avatar of 2010.
Moderator of the Year - The member of the mod team who has helped to moderate the site the most in 2010 and who's work and efforts are the most appreciated.
Best new 2010 member - The best new addition to the site in 2010.
Member of the Year 2010 - The overall best member of 2010. The member who we love, appreciate and respect the most.
Most Mainstream Music Taste - The member with the most commercial, mainstream taste in music.
Most Obscure Music Taste - The member with the most varied or obscure taste in music.
Best Thread Starter - The member with a consistent habit of making throught provoking threads that manage to bring the community together in healthy, lengthy topic of debate or discussion.
Best Mediator -The member who is best at controlling arguments, limiting negative behaviour but keeping the discussion fair, on-topic and interesting.

As to the nomination vs. voting issue: Personally, I would have only voted in the final voting round because I just don't know enough to compile a list of nominations. I can only do a few but since this may be my only chance then here goes..

Most Underrated Poster : I'd say James I've had some interesting discussions with him over the past year.

Smartest poster : I'm going to say Janszoon for this if only because I agree with him a lot of the time making me smart by default.

Most Missed Poster : Brad Stengel, He was a really good guy. I wish he'd come back. Molecules deserves a mention here too.

Best Journal : Flower Child's, I hope she comes back.

Biggest Drama Whore : Paloma. Only Pavement Saw comes anywhere near as close.

Sexiest Member (male) : Aww Sugar's balls are bigger than mine so i'm going to say her.

Best argumentalist : I like how Janszoon can gently get his point across with minimum of fuss and without the excessive histrionics of some people that have been here in the past *cough*BooBooEthan*cough*

Worst argumentalist : I would say OctaneHugo here but his attempts at trolling are so lame you actually start to feel sorry for the guy and just want to give him a hug. I'm actually going to say Vegangelica here. I love Erica to bits but the way she derails threads & goes on and on and on and on gets so tedious sometimes you'd rather watch paint dry than read her responses.

Best Writer : I have a lot of time for Bulldog's posts and journal so i'm going to say him.

Biggest music nerd : right-track. For 2 reasons:
1. He voted for me
2. He's a Northern Soul fan. it's a well known fact that Northern Soul fans are the most anal record collectors on the planet. And I KNOW he's no different

Funniest member : OctaneHugo, for being the Liechtenstein of trolling. Just give it up mate.

Angriest member : Big3. I've actually seen him ranting at someone for paying him a compliment you know.

Nicest member : Vegangelica, She is lovely. At first I thought she was some kind of fact spewing raving mad activist android. I've since learned the error of my ways. She is in fact a nice polite & friendly fact spewing activist android.

Biggest Troll : Unchained Ballad. I don't actually think he's a troll. I just want to provoke him into getting out of that f*cking shoutbox for more than 5 minutes & actually post on the forum for a change.

Biggest contributor Both Tore & Freebase do a hell of a lot for this place that goes unseen. It's hard to seperate them but as Tore's been on a sabbatical lately I think it should go to Freebase.

Most Improved Member : I think I should give this to Terrible Lizard. A year ago I thought he was some annoying gimmick poster but the past few months he's really shown he knows his stuff.

Most virtuosic : Urban Hatemonger. You know I could kick Mr Dave & GuitarBizarre's asses on the bongos.

Moderator of the Year: Mojopinuk's took to moderating like a duck to water. has just the right consistency of not over-moderating but not being a push over either. I think he should get it.

Best new 2010 member : There have been several that have caught my eye. Sljslj, Pedestrian, Dayvan Cowboy, TheFolkslave, Bob, ThePhanastasio and probably many more that I have missed ..
