All this talk has got me thinking, I've got the entire CCR discog and I don't need it. I only like Willy and the Poor Boys and like one other album... why do I need 10 live ones???
Goodbye CCR discog. I hardly knew ye. |

There's nothing really wrong with discographies, it's just that I'm a picky mofo. I tend to like 2-3 songs out of an album I LOVE, so discographies just tend not to work so much fur me. That, and I tend to get rid of stuff a lot. I just don't like any one artist enough.

I however, am a very slow collection builder. I will find a new say 3 artists that I've never heard of, rape their music and then move on after that. I have 100's of CDs and have actually listened to them profusely over the years thanks to actually buying them. Do you guys find that when you download them without paying for them you take longer to pay attention for it because you don't try and get your money's worth?

I rarely have the urge to just download something unless I know I will like it so I never have this problem. There is a problem with this method though, you don't get into as much music this way and it's harder to get out of your comfort zone.

Duude I wouldn't purge it if I were you. I suppose it could be kind of cleansing but I can't ever see myself reaching a point where I'd want to actively lose music (unless it was stuff that I hated). I'd say just don't download things for a while, and spend the time going through your library and acquainting yourself with unfamiliar music. If something like that is possible.

so i've decided to just leave it alone for now. i'm moving in a month, and while i have super cheap super fast internet right now, i won't on the other end. so i've decided to keep on hoarding until i go, then once i'm on the other side, i'll take it easy and listen more.
but with last.fm recommendations and what.cd notifications there's always something new to explore, so i don't think i'll ever stop downloading
