The point being...my wife thinks I'm crazy to spend so much money on a rock.
However, at the risk of boring her to death...I explained. And when I'd finished explaining how this stone will save me hundreds in the long term and how it will never reduce in value (and after her eyes had glazed over) she reluctantly accepted that it was money well spent.

So I guess anyone who spends a ridiculous amount of money on anything, has to ask themselves, what it is they want from the item they have just laid a lot of money out for?
The only way to justify spending a lot of money (in my mind) is if it can eventually pay for itself in the long term.
