This.

Seven Harry Potter Books: $180. Movie tickets: $20. Not understanding anyone’s excitement about the new Harry Potter because your parents never allowed books about “witchcraft”… priceless.

Most people who see the movie read the books.

Yeah fuck you too.

In a related vein, it makes me sad when I'm sitting at a crosswalk waiting to cross, and then someone walks up on the other side and presses the button multiple times.

It's like... seriously? Do you think I'm standing here just to enjoy the fumes of passing motorists?

I have only followed the HP series because I went on a school trip to the cinema to see the first one, and I went to the cinema to see the second one. Someone gave the third and fourth one to me on a pirated DVD so I've just kind of followed it the whole way through by coincidence really and with some indifference. I'll get round to watching it, but thus far
Spoiler for Harry Potter:
I know that Hedwig dies and so does Dobby.
and it's really annoying because there's not a prayer I'd go to the cinema to watch it.

Dude, if you haven't read the Harry Potter series at this point, I have no empathy for you.

TheCunningStunt 12-01-2010 04:22 PM

I don't want your empathy and I prefer film to books anyway. "The book is always better than the film" pisses me off so much.
I've read 3 of the HP books (the first three) and seen all of the films up until the latest one and I don't care about the books whatsoever but I'd like to finish off watching a childhood series with no fu**ing spoilers.

Harry Potter films have nostalgia attached to them, I don't give a f**k about the books.

A friend of mine has a girlfriend in Belfast and they see each other all the time...but I have no idea how. It really does confuse me. I would have thought that once every month or two would be more realistic.

Dublin, half an hour from the airport, so it's all good!

Stay put brother. Ignoring people on the street is a way of life out here.

Yeah it's a way of life here too. :( That's just not how it was when I grew up...I suppose I should be used to it by now, but that just means it's worse here than anywhere else I've ever lived. To me it's just common courtesey to acknowledge a person you cross (I'm not talking about masses of people here, just 2 people crossing). Ahh well there's really no point bitching about it. People are assholes.

Definately agree with this. When I pass by someone on the street and our eyes meet I always say hello or nod my head to acknowledge them. Then they just look at me like I'm a freak, and I awkwardly walk away.
