Pasta for me. Rice is extremely versatile... but pasta makes for better dishes in my opinion.

Rice.

Had a room mate for two years who was half-Vietnamese. He had a rice cooker and made rice like every day. Added a lot of butter and some amazing soy sauce that he got at a Vietnamese store and it was great to eat with anything.

There are way more options and better options for what you can eat with rice, plus rice tastes better by itself than pasta does.
