You're a monster. I sort of live off rice, and crunchy rice is the bane of my existence. It's just...awful It makes my skin crawl. The worst part is that when I'm making rice, and it's been simmering for almost an hour, and it's still crunchy, then I know it's not getting any better. I can add some more water, but then I'll just have soggy, crunchy rice. So, I just have to bite the bullet, smother it in butter, soy sauce, salt, and pepper, and desperately try to choke it down without vomiting.

It would have been more accurate of me to say I just ate crunchy rice because I was impatient, it's not something I've made into a habit by any means. Brown rice though, man, what a ****ing pain to cook. White rice and quinoa are both a lot easier but blah blah blah brown rice is so good for you whatever. |

If you don't bring the water back up to a full boil after you add the rice, then the rice won't fully absorb the water. It happens.
