Confession: I haven't read the last fifteen pages of this thread. Same old **** I'm guessing?

You can say this about every thread on this site and it remains true.

My parents started a homeopathic cleanse because they live in San Diego and they're trying to fit in by doing the same stupid **** as everyone else. I convinced my dad of the bs that homeopathy really is and I saw it as a victory. But then he looked sad that his trendy dream had been crushed and I kind of feel bad. My parents let me believe in bull**** like Santa Claus when I was a kid, I think I'll start returning the favour.

Alternative medicine is sort of scary, though, imo. At least, if people are using it to the exclusion of medicine thay actually... works...

They're not curing anything specific though, the grass is just greener. At least homeopathy isn't dangerous like some alternative medicines.

I also have a family member or two who may dabble in alternative treatments. I think they're wasting money on a scam and they can probably guess how I feel without me telling them, so I don't see the need for me to express my views more firmly unless they somehow confront me with it.

Their alternative indulgences are also, thankfully, of the relatively harmless sort. If it was something I thought could hurt them, I would be more outspoken.

I'm on the fence about herbal cures, some actually work, others are so outlandish it's kinda funny. But let your relatives have their fun.

Of course the cultist is a homeopathic sympathizer.

speaking of herbal cures... at work the other day, over break, everyone was insisting that not only is smoking weed not cancerous, but it actually cures cancer

and someone else assured me that it's the filters in cigarettes that really cause cancer. tear off the filter and you're good to go
