In spite of kicking other, more horrible "addictions", I'm probably an alcoholic.

I drink every single day, generally to the point of drunkenness. Today, I met up with theatre friends, drank 3 pitchers and 4 12 oz. beers, and am still coherent...and I also passed a breathalyzer not 20 minutes ago.

I've been to alcohol rehab, but I think I'm worse now than I ever was.

Didn't you just like, kick heroin? Were you still drinking during your period of being on dope?

I didn't *just* kick that, it was a bit ago. And no, I wasn't drinking then. For whatever reason, I decided to draw the line at mixing an opiate with alcohol. I guess that was how I justified to myself that I still had some manner of responsibility, even if it was honestly completely irrational. Who knows.

I feel like kicking one addiction only to fall into another is counterproductive. This worries me.

I understand completely. I'm an opiate addict myself (though I used pills), and you're right, it is completely counterproductive but don't be too hard on yourself. I guess I was just curious because if you'd had the addiction prior to kicking, then it would be ridiculous to try to expect that you can keep away from both. I've been clean for 90 days and I can't even fathom quitting cigarettes.

One step at a time.

Yeah but you're like, 14 man. I wouldn't worry about it. You're not going to die a virgin.
